Perhaps you can hit all of the big JW conspiracies at once. . .the Watch Tower Society's UN NGO membership for 10 years, the changes in the NO BLOOD doctrine + the fact that they would disfellowship her for saving her own life by taking a transfusion, the great pedophile debacle of 2007 featuring a LARGE cash settlement paid to victims--uniquely the only one we can think of in history with a strict gag order in place, the constantly changing doctrines including altering dates then denying they said any such thing--our favorite was the doctrine that 1975 was going to be the end of 'this system' which played in earnest in their written literature and in public talks at international conventions--then in 1976 they said that The Society never said the end would be in 1975 it was THE FLOCK, that damned-overly-enthusiastic-for-the-end-to-come-flock who kept saying it. . .that made US who were JW's in 1976 mindlessly, obediently say 'we shouldn't have done that, thank you Faithful and Wise Slave for correcting our thinking'.

Here's something she won't know until it's too late, and even then she won't question it: When she gets baptized, the baptism 'oath' that JWs repeat says that her baptism means that she's now a Jehovah's Witness and that she believes that the WTS is God's voice and organization on earth, when earlier versions, just 25 yrs ago or so, of the baptism oath focused solely on dedication to God and recognition of the need of Christ's sacrifice for and confession of sins.

Everything in their books that your fiance has studied is all carefully worded to lead 'students' to believe certain things, that is why she has no evidence with which to thwart you, there isn't any. Perhaps you can open her eyes.

I agree with you--believing that there were absolutes and that you and yours alone had possession of these truisms was isolating, making us elitists--few people could measure up to our standards after that.

I think that certain morals should be absolute, and the rule about not judging others and accepting others who live a good life while not harming others is a rule in our house.

I like my name more now, I find it useful--when I've done business with people for a while they know me as _____ then I tell them what my real name is. . .they say I should use it.

They say, 'Wow, you should put Pioneer Spit...oh I mean Spirit on your business cards!!' JK LOL 'o'

as a witness i only worked with other witnesses for 35 years.

now thrust out into the real world i find myself unprepared .

Who Am I?

I wouldn't open the mail of another person and so read an invitation for a special event and assume that I have been invited. But when I read the New Testament, I assume it's all about me: I'm the True Church, God speaks through me alone, I alone have the understanding of the entire Bible, I'm going to heaven, my religious brothers are the new and improved 'faithful slave positioned over Christ's domestics', the signs of the destruction of Jerusalem are about my day and age, I am so righteous I shall abhor and shun my own children--'not even saying a greeting to them' because St. Paul told me to.

Is Wife Beating still Okay ???

there is a situation at my wife's hall where a couple in their 40's are separated and going to get a divorce.

she has a restraining order out on him since he had used his fists on a few occasions to solve their arguments.

the husband has gone back to live with mom and dad ( respected long time elder) while things are sorted out with no problem.. he has not been df'ed for the abuse and in fact has not even been publicly reproved.
